Where Ever She May Be
By Doc Watts
I had a dream the other night
as dark as it might be
I woke up to the daybreak
it was waiting there for me
but when I reached for my Jasmine
my joy to have around
it was though she simply vanished
she was no where to be found

I walked into the forest deep
alive and shimmering green
I asked the trees of Witchwood
if some sight of her they've seen
I called in all directions
far into the wilderness
but when I paused to listen
only heard my emptyness

My despair caught me unaware
wondering where o' where can she be
and I spoke out loud to my loss within
please bring her back to me

I asked the rocky shallow brook
I asked the birds in the sky
I asked the cows in the pasture
if they saw her pass by
I asked the rain and the mountain mist
the wildflowers and the bees
I asked the wind through the tall grass
and this it said to me

"You cannot tame the spirit
of something wild and free
you cannot take possession
of a thing not meant to be
You cannot hold a moment
longer than it wants you to
anywhere past what fate
has allotted for you...."

All I care is for her welfare
tell me where o' where can she be
and I cried out to the winds of fate
please bring her back to me

Her hair is smooth and shiny
but her thoughts are all astray
she sits there by the window
but she's many miles away
and all the while
that Jasmine smile
made of silver blue and grey
for even though she's not around
all her memories still play

The days have stretched
now into weeks
no sight of her I've seen
the nights are most unbearable
she comes home in my dreams
I know not of her whereabouts
be she dead
or still alive
or why she had to go away
leaving me here to survive

Life's unfair
pain is everywhere
but love is wild and free
and I wish for her only happy things
where ever she may be

and I wish for her only happy things
where ever she may be

Me despair
