From 1986 to 1992 Mark spent his summers in Haworth N.J. as a volunteer for the Haworth Summer Shakespear Festival. While his primary duties were as stage-hand / general assistant, he later took on the secondary job of in-house photographer, documenting rehersals, performances, gatherings, celebrations, and all the other comings and goings of the festival in swing. Mark learned the art of black & white, from scratch, during those Haworth years, first working with borrowed equipment, set up in the restroom of a warehouse, and latr moving to a professional darkroom. He would like to thank producer Cindy Kaplan for all her faith, patience and encouragement. "Thank you Cindy, for smiling through all the mediocrity before we finally came up with some good stuff."
